PAGCOR revenue surges 42% in Jan-Sept 2024
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) reported a revenue of P79.43 billion for the first nine months of the year, marking a 42 percent increase from P55.95 billion in the same period last year.
PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco highlighted that the growth was primarily driven by the electronic games sector. “The electronic games sector alone contributed P28.22 billion or 35.52 percent to the gaming revenue pie,” Tengco said in a news release on October 29, 2024.
Of the total revenues, P69.88 billion came from gaming operations and license fees, while other services contributed P6.43 billion, and additional income totaled P3.11 billion. Meanwhile, net income reached P9.63 billion, nearly double last year’s P4.85 billion.
Tengco also noted that PAGCOR’s contributions to nation-building rose by 40.39 percent to P48.88 billion, with P33.19 billion going to the National Treasury as the government’s share.
