Members of the media and distinguished guests gathered for a memorable evening at the 13th Manila Forum for China-Philippines Relations and the Annual Christmas Media Party on Wednesday, December 11, at Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The event, themed “Understanding China,” was jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines and the Association for Philippines-China Understanding, led by chairman Raul Lambino.

The spirit of camaraderie and warmth among the attendees was evident, highlighting the enduring friendship and deepening ties between China and the Philippines.

In a gesture of goodwill, Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian led the distribution of Christmas gifts to Filipino children and victims of a recent fire in Manila, aiming to bring joy and solace during the holiday season.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Ambassador Huang acknowledged the media for their pivotal role in fostering better understanding and relations between China and the Philippines.

“As we embrace the Christmas spirit and welcome the new year, I send my warmest wishes for peace, happiness, and prosperity to all our friends in the Philippines,” he said.

He also thanked former Senator Nikki Coseteng and Philippine Star’s associate editor Marichu Villanueva for gracing the event and enriching it with their thoughtful opening remarks.
