The Social Weather Stations (SWS) has released the results of its December 2024 national survey, sponsored by Stratbase Consultancy, which gauged public trust in Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte. Conducted from December 12 to 18, the survey highlights trends in public confidence toward both figures.

Among the 98% of respondents who were aware of Marcos, 54% expressed much trust (combined responses of “very much” and “somewhat much”), while 25% reported little trust. The remaining 19% were undecided. Marcos’ net trust rating stands at +29, a moderate score, reflecting a 4-point decline from the previous survey in September 2024, when his rating was +33.

For Sara Duterte, who was also recognized by 98% of respondents, 52% said they had much trust in her, and 29% expressed little trust. Her net trust rating is +23, also a moderate score, which is down by 6 points from September 2024, when it was +29.

The survey was conducted nationwide through face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults, with a ±2% margin of error for national results and ±3% for Balance Luzon, and ±5% for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

SWS, which designs, conducts, and analyzes all its surveys internally, ensures the data is representative by weighting it according to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2024 population projections.

The SWS net trust ratings are categorized as follows: +70 and above is considered “excellent,” +50 to +69 “very good,” +30 to +49 “good,” +10 to +29 “moderate,” +9 to -9 “neutral,” -10 to -29 “poor,” -30 to -49 “bad,” -50 to -69 “very bad,” and -70 and below “execrable.”
