Simon Le Bon, the lead singer of new wave band Duran Duran, was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his contributions to music and charity at Windsor Castle on November 12, 2024.

Duran Duran rose to fame in the ’80s with timeless hits such as “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Save a Prayer,” and “The Wild Boys,” and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2011 GQ Men of the Year Awards.

In addition to his music career, Le Bon supports causes like ocean conservation through the Blue Marine Foundation and youth programs with the Tall Ships Youth Trust.

In September, Duran Duran made headlines in the Philippines after performing at a private birthday party for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Pasay City. The event was organized by his friends “at no cost to the government,” with the Presidential Communications Office confirming the band’s participation.
