FFCCCII promotes Philippine trade, tourism at China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning

The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) is promoting Philippine exports, tourism and investment opportunities at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, China, as the Philippines takes center stage as this year’s “Country of Honor.”

The trade expo, running from September 17 to 21 in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, marks the second time the Philippines has been designated Country of Honor after its first recognition in 2013.

The Philippine delegation, its largest ever at CAEXPO, consists of 313 participants, including 73 export-oriented companies showcasing agrifood, fashion, lifestyle, home and personal care products, as well as various services.

FFCCCII president Victor Lim led the business group’s participation at the event. Joining him were Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz and FFCCCII vice president Antony Chan.

Cebu is featured as the Philippines’ “Province of Charm,” highlighting its tourism destinations, manufacturing sector, creative industries, investment opportunities, and transport connectivity. The province is also promoting its international airport, deepwater ports, and position as a key gateway for trade within the ASEAN region.

The expo comes as Guangxi opened the 134.2-kilometer Pinglu Canal on September 16, creating a new river-to-sea shipping route linking the Xijiang River system to the Beibu Gulf. Chinese officials say the canal will accommodate vessels of up to 5,000 tons, shorten shipping routes from southwestern China by more than 560 kilometers, and reduce logistics costs.

For the Philippines, the expo serves as a platform to strengthen trade ties with China and ASEAN while expanding opportunities for Philippine products, tourism, and investment in the regional market.
