Filipino billionaires in Forbes’ 2025 wealth rankings

The Philippines has once again cemented its presence on Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List, with 15 Filipino tycoons making the prestigious ranking in its 2025 edition.
Led by property magnate Manuel Villar, whose net worth surged to $17.2 billion, the list reflects the economic powerhouses shaping industries from real estate to retail.
Villar, 75, maintains his status as the richest Filipino, ranked 117th globally. His wealth stems from his real estate empire, Vista Land & Lifescapes, which has expanded across the country, capitalizing on the sustained demand for residential and commercial developments.
Following him is ports and logistics mogul Enrique Razon Jr., 65, who ranks 227th worldwide with a net worth of $10.9 billion. Razon, chairman of International Container Terminal Services Inc., continues to dominate the global port operations sector.
Other notable billionaires include Ramon Ang, president and CEO of San Miguel Corporation, with a $3.7 billion fortune, placing him at 979th globally. Ang’s diversified business portfolio, spanning food, beverages, and infrastructure, remains a cornerstone of the Philippine economy.
Lucio Tan, the 90-year-old patriarch of the LT Group, is ranked 1,219th with a $3 billion fortune. Despite his age, Tan’s business empire, which includes tobacco, banking, and aviation, remains influential in shaping key industries.
The Sy family, heirs to the SM Group fortune, continues to dominate the list with multiple members securing spots. Henry Sy Jr. ($2.3 billion, rank 1,573); Hans Sy ($2.2 billion, rank 1,626); Herbert Sy ($2.1 billion, rank 1,688); Harley Sy ($1.9 billion, rank 1,850); Teresita Sy-Coson ($1.9 billion, rank 1,850); and Elizabeth Sy ($1.7 billion, rank 2,019) collectively maintain the legacy of their father, Henry Sy Sr., who built the largest retail and property conglomerate in the country.
Andrew Tan, the man behind Megaworld Corporation and Emperador Inc., holds a net worth of $1.6 billion (rank 2,110). Meanwhile, retail magnate Lucio Co ($1.4 billion, rank 2,356) and his wife Susan Co ($1.3 billion, rank 2,479) continue to thrive in the retail sector with their Puregold supermarket chain.
Jollibee founder Tony Tan Caktiong, with a $1.3 billion fortune (rank 2,479), remains a key player in the fast-food industry, overseeing the expansion of his empire. Eusebio Tanco, with investments in digital entertainment, ports, and education, rounds out the list with a $1.2 billion net worth (rank 2,623).
