Aiming to strengthen efforts against child exploitation and all forms of harassment, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Child Rescue Coalition Inc. (CRC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to protect children.
NBI director, Atty. Melvin Matibag, recently expressed his gratitude to CRC, headed by chief executive Greg Schiller, for donating advanced technology and providing specialized training for NBI personnel to track down violators.
“This collaboration significantly boosts our ability to combat child exploitation in the digital space and protect vulnerable victims. We all know how important it is to protect our children, especially in times like these when perpetrators are also operating online,” Matibag said.
“We are so thankful to Child Rescue Coalition for partnering with us and for helping us fight child exploitation, all forms of sexual abuse, and other acts that exploit our children,” he added. “We will not stop hunting these child predators.”
Aside from the MOU, a Deed of Donation aimed at strengthening efforts against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) was also part of the partnership, demonstrating the two entities’ commitment to protecting children worldwide.
As part of the agreement, CRC will donate advanced digital forensic technology, including the Micro Systemation AB (MSAB) XRY system, to support the operations of the NBI’s Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD) and Human Trafficking Division (HTRAD).
These tools will enhance the bureau’s capability to extract and analyze digital evidence, enabling faster and more effective case investigations.
The partnership also covers intelligence sharing, specialized training for NBI personnel, and improved coordination with international law enforcement agencies.
According to Matibag, the NBI reaffirms its strong commitment to relentlessly pursuing offenders and strengthening partnerships that advance child protection both nationwide and globally.
Schiller also shared during the meeting that they will identify the global buyers fueling this epidemic and ensure they are brought to justice.
