Seven Philippine startups are showcasing homegrown technologies at GITEX AI ASIA 2026, which officially opened on Thursday, April 9, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Marina Bay Sands, reinforcing the country’s growing footprint in the regional innovation ecosystem.
The Philippine delegation, led by Atty. Marion Ivy Decena, director of the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), joins more than 20,000 technology leaders, startups, enterprises, and investors from over 110 countries at what is widely regarded as Asia’s largest platform for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Now on its latest edition in Singapore, GITEX AI ASIA serves as a gateway for global collaboration, investment, and market expansion, highlighting cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, agritech, climate technology, smart cities, and digital transformation. The event brings together founders, venture capitalists, policymakers, and industry leaders to accelerate innovation and cross-border partnerships.
Representing the Philippines are seven startups offering solutions across climate resilience, agriculture, education, and smart infrastructure:
- WEHLO — A ₱15 million DOST-funded, 24/7 localized weather, environmental and hydrometeorological monitoring system developed by Mapúa University. It delivers precise, real-time forecasts and early warnings for local governments and disaster risk reduction offices, aligned with international and national standards for disaster preparedness.
- Farmesto Technologies Inc. — An IoT-enabled greenhouse system that automates irrigation, nutrient delivery, and climate control. The platform enables farmers to improve yields, reduce resource consumption, and support sustainable agriculture, including urban and rooftop farming applications.
- GreenVisions — An AI-powered farm management platform described as a “hospital for farms,” providing soil diagnostics, treatment recommendations, continuous monitoring, and waste-to-fertilizer solutions to enhance crop health and sustainability.
- Cerebro Plus — An integrated K-12 school management and content platform with more than 4,000 curriculum-aligned digital lessons. It reduces teacher preparation time by up to 400 hours annually and has generated approximately $400,000 in revenue over three years, supported by DOST grants and adoption in more than 20 schools.
- GradeChum — A Cebu-based edtech AI assistant that automates the grading of handwritten exams, including essays and complex problem-solving tasks. The platform ensures consistent evaluation while significantly reducing teachers’ workload. It was developed by a magna cum laude engineer who also created the CodeChum programming platform.
- DUON Wayfinding — The Philippines’ first real-time indoor navigation application featuring “blue-dot” precision for large, complex spaces such as malls and airports, including deployments in SM Megamall and Changi Airport. It also integrates geomarketing tools and foot traffic analytics to optimize user engagement and business insights.
- Collo PH — A cloud-based AI property management platform modernizing rental operations through end-to-end automation, including tenant acquisition, billing, documentation, and predictive analytics. It currently manages more than 9,000 units across major developers such as Ayala, SM, and Megaworld.
Participation in GITEX AI ASIA underscores the Philippines’ strategic push to position itself as a hub for innovation in Southeast Asia, particularly in sectors that address real-world challenges such as climate resilience, food security, education efficiency, and urban development. The presence of these startups reflects increasing momentum in translating locally developed technologies into scalable, market-ready solutions.
To further strengthen market readiness, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Singapore organized a pre-event briefing for the delegation, equipping startup founders with insights into Singapore’s highly competitive, proof-driven startup ecosystem. The session focused on investor expectations, commercialization pathways, and strategies for regional expansion.
Visitors and potential partners may explore the Philippine innovations at the official booth located at Hall B, A108 (HB-A108), where DOST-TAPI and participating startups are engaging with investors, collaborators, and technology stakeholders throughout the two-day event.
The Philippine showcase at GITEX AI Asia 2026 highlights not only technological capability but also the country’s commitment to building solutions that are globally competitive, locally relevant, and impact-driven.
