Rep. Matibag calls for equal opportunities, inclusive access

Laguna 1st District Rep. Ann Matibag has expressed strong support for efforts to advance the rights of women and girls and promote equal access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making without fear of violence.

Matibag said the advocacy of Zonta District 17 must be clearly communicated and translated into programs and services that communities can see and feel.

She also cited the organization’s call for members, young professionals, and community partners to contribute voluntarily to sustaining initiatives focused on women and girls.

“Its impact must be reflected in a girl’s ability to continue her education, a woman’s opportunity to earn a livelihood, and a community’s capacity to recover with dignity,” said Matibag.

“Every girl deserves the chance to learn, the freedom to dream, and the support to build her future,” added Matibag.

Matibag served as one of the moderators during Zonta District 17’s recent press conference, where the organization highlighted its leadership training programs and preparations for the International Day of the Girl Child.

She said the gathering reaffirmed Zonta District 17’s commitment to strengthening volunteer leadership, advancing girls’ right to education, and turning advocacy into meaningful community action.

“Through a compassionate leadership and collective action, Zonta continues working to make that promise a reality,” noted Matibag.

Joining Matibag at the press conference were Zonta District 17 chair for public relations and communications and past international president Olivia Ferry; district governor Runcha Boribalburibhand; chair for leaders institute Sonia Tiong-Aquino; and chair for Z and Golden Z Club committee Lourdes Almeda Sese; and area directors.
