SM Seaside Cebu Arena to debut with major concert lineup

SM Supermalls is set to usher in a new chapter for Cebu’s live entertainment industry with the opening of the SM Seaside Cebu Arena, a venue expected to host international concerts, major sporting events, and large-scale productions.

The project marks the latest addition to SM’s growing presence in Cebu, where its flagship destinations—SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Cebu, and SM J Mall—have evolved into lifestyle hubs that combine retail, dining, leisure, and community experiences.

Located beside SM Seaside City Cebu and connected to the mall through a bridgeway, the arena is designed to offer visitors more than a standalone event venue.

Concertgoers will have direct access to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment options before and after performances, creating an integrated destination that caters to both local audiences and visitors from across the country.

The venue will open with a strong lineup of performances, reflecting Cebu’s growing appeal as a stop for regional and international touring acts.

The inaugural calendar begins with BINI’s “Signals World Tour 2026” on July 11, followed by IV of Spades’ “Andalucia Tour 2026” on July 18. The schedule continues with TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan’s “In Between” concert on September 5, Hillsong Worship’s Worship Nights Asia Tour on September 18, and two performances by LANY as part of its “Beautiful Mind World Tour” on November 6 and 12.

The lineup underscores Cebu’s emergence as an increasingly important market for live entertainment outside Metro Manila. With a venue capable of accommodating large-scale productions, the city is expected to attract more concerts, sporting competitions, and international events that have traditionally been concentrated in the capital.

SM said the arena forms part of its long-term commitment to expanding lifestyle and entertainment offerings in Cebu while supporting the region’s position as a destination for tourism and business events. The company expects the venue to become a platform for world-class productions that will draw audiences from across the Visayas, Mindanao, and other parts of the Philippines.

“For years, SM has helped shape the country’s live entertainment landscape by playing host to world-class events and bringing them closer to Filipinos. With SM Seaside Cebu Arena, we are extending that commitment to Cebu—creating a new beacon for live entertainment and sports events, bringing more international concerts, premier sporting events, and the best customer experience for fans that will inspire communities and place Cebu as the next global entertainment destination,” said Arnel Gonzales, vice president and general manager of SM Seaside Cebu Arena.

Beyond entertainment, the arena is expected to generate broader economic benefits for Cebu. The influx of concertgoers and event attendees is projected to support hotels, restaurants, retail establishments, and transport services while creating employment opportunities for local communities. Increased visitor spending is also expected to benefit businesses surrounding the venue, reinforcing Cebu’s growing role as a regional hub for tourism, commerce, and entertainment.

As the city prepares to welcome its first events at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena, the development represents more than the opening of a new venue. It signals Cebu’s ambitions to become a leading destination for world-class live entertainment, while strengthening SM Supermalls’ broader investment in creating integrated lifestyle destinations that bring together commerce, leisure, and cultural experiences under one roof.
