Swatch unveils its winter-inspired MoonSwatch: The ‘Cold Moon’

The quiet poetry of winter begins with the first snowfall, each flake a fleeting work of art. Swatch captures this delicate wonder in the newly arrived MoonSwatch Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold “Cold Moon,” a timepiece created to honor the season’s most luminous moment.

Launched globally on December 4, the day of the Cold Moon, the release immediately stood out for its quiet innovation: each model carries a snowflake lasered onto the moon-phase indicator, ensuring that no two watches are ever alike.

The piece appears in a serene white palette reminiscent of freshly fallen snow, retaining the familiar architecture of the MoonSwatch line while highlighting Swatch’s earth-phase mechanism and Omega’s Moonshine Gold on the moon-phase display. At the 9 o’clock mark, Snoopy makes a charming return—this time reimagined through a winter lens—softening the watch’s sculptural precision with a note of whimsy.

True to the Bioceramic MoonSwatch lineage, the model is crafted from Swatch’s patented Bioceramic material and carries many of the unmistakable signatures of the Speedmaster Moonwatch. Its asymmetrical case, the iconic tachymeter scale with the dot over ninety, and the crisp silhouette all appear with a refined, almost architectural clarity. Omega x Swatch logos sit prominently on the dial and crown, while the mission statement is engraved on the caseback. The battery cover displays an Earth-themed design, paired with a white Velcro rubber strap that underscores the watch’s contemporary, easy elegance.

The technical detailing strengthens the narrative. The white Bioceramic case frames an opaline dial with Grade A Super-LumiNova hour markers that glow green in darkness. At 10 o’clock, the earth-phase indicator reveals oceans that illuminate blue under UV light, with Snoopy and Woodstock depicted beneath it as they gaze at Earth from the lunar surface—complete with a hidden phrase visible only under UV exposure.

At 2 o’clock, the moon-phase indicator displays two radiant full moons in Moonshine Gold: one rendered in classic Snoopy style, the other etched with a unique snowflake design, ensuring every piece remains distinct. The dial’s biosourced box-shaped glass, recessed subdials, etched “S,” and refined circular patterns add to the model’s quiet but deliberate sophistication.

Now available worldwide since December 4, the model will remain on shelves until March 20, 2026, although sales after launch continue to follow Swatch’s poetic rule: it may only be sold on days when snowfall is recorded in Switzerland, prompting collectors everywhere to monitor the weather like a celestial forecast.

In the Philippines, the launch unfolded with notable momentum. Swatch Philippines transformed its Glorietta store into a pocket of winter wonder on December 5 as it unveiled the limited-edition “Cold Moon,” coinciding with the last supermoon of 2025.

The model, priced locally at approximately ₱24,850 to ₱29,995, drew steady interest from collectors and first-time MoonSwatch buyers alike. The rollout, supported by themed displays and in-store activations, positioned the “Cold Moon” as one of the brand’s most anticipated arrivals of the season, with boutiques reporting consistent foot traffic and early sellouts.
