From homesickness to homecoming: GCash and PAL make it possible
For millions of Filipinos living abroad, the promise of a better life often comes at the cost of distance—holidays spent oceans away from the people they love most. But this Christmas, GCash is offering a way to bridge that gap and bring families back together.
The Philippines’ leading finance super app has teamed up with Philippine Airlines (PAL) to launch a holiday raffle promo that gives overseas Filipinos in the United States a chance to fly home for free. The partnership transforms everyday digital transactions into golden tickets for reunion.
“We’re happy to share our mission of uplifting the spirits of Pinoys all around the world by transforming homesickness into a homecoming. With GCash and PAL, our kababayans are a step closer to coming home,” said GCash international general manager Paul Albano. “And that’s really our goal—to gift Filipinos this festive joy and bridge the distance.”

The collaboration finds its heart in a touching video featuring actor Joshua Garcia, who serenades Filipinos in the US to come back home—a swoon-worthy reminder of what the holidays are truly about. By combining the accessibility of GCash with the service of PAL as the country’s flagship carrier, the campaign turns everyday transactions into opportunities for return, where every tap and transfer carries the promise of a long-awaited reunion.
From October 1 to November 30, active GCash users in the US can earn raffle entries simply by using the app. Two lucky winners will receive round-trip tickets to the Philippines, redeemable within a year. Joining is effortless: download and verify your GCash account using your +1 US mobile number, then explore GCash features such as Send Money, Bank Transfer, Pay Bills, GSave, Buy Load, Gifting, and Pinoy Channel.
For PAL, the campaign extends their commitment to connect families across borders. “We believe that every tap, every send, every payment tells a story of love, care, and connection. It’s our honor to give back the same way they send their love miles away,” Jomito “Mitty” Torres, officer-in-charge / area manager, Los Angeles sales district for PAL.
Beyond the raffle, the collaboration also makes travel simpler for Filipinos abroad. PAL check-in counters now feature QR codes linking directly to the eTravel platform and the GCash app—an easy, practical step that helps passengers complete requirements before departure and ensures a smoother journey home.
As the country’s largest cashless ecosystem, GCash continues to redefine convenience for Filipinos everywhere—empowering users to send money, pay bills, and even save or invest through a few taps on their phones. By partnering with PAL, it extends that convenience into something more meaningful: a bridge between distance and belonging.
Between offering free flights and making journeys seamless, GCash turns technology into connection, and homesickness into homecoming.
